I don't know why you southies have an inferiority complex about your skin color and get offended when someone talks about it. There's nothing wrong with being dark and there's nothing special about being fair.

This guy said Indian are obsessed with being fair, south Indians are dark.. but they have good dance.. So do South Indians have to deduce they are obsessed with being fair? I am sure pretty much everyone in the world would view that. Because Your analogy of caribbean is not applicable here. Because not all South Indians have same characteristics much like all north Indians have same characteristics. Stereotyping someone based on skin tone is racism.

If he meant dark skinned people are bad or undesirable for so-and-so reason, that def. would have been racist. His comment maybe ignorant or dumb, but not racist. Most people wouldn't label Yadav a racist for this comment. Also, dictionary definitions not always cover all aspects or fit properly each time. For ex., I once posted stuff that was anti religion-of-peace on a website. Based on dictionary definition some American labelled that as racism(other posters objected to that of course). One shouldn't be in a hurry to label everything that is personally annoying as racism.

If not racist, these comments are just plain stupid. I came across a Sri Lankan girl in her early 20s and she addressed people from the sub continent as "curries". I was confused and thought she was joking but when she kept doing it for days, I just politely told her that I don't think indian cuisine is what defines me, you can call me Indian or south Asian or Asian, I don't care as you are talking about a region. She never called desis curries in front of me after that. Now what yadav ji is doing is basically that plus his sexist remarks describing the awesome skin and curves of women.

Calling South Indians as dark skinned is a stereotype and a generalization as all South Indians are not dark skinned. Know the difference. There are lots of dark skinned people in North states as well. Would you be fine if some white person calls all North Indians as dark skinned ?
