Umpire communications to be aired during knockouts

All communication between on-field and TV umpires during referrals, consultations and DRS player reviews during all the knockout games of the 2015 World Cup will be made available to host broadcaster Star Sports to put on air, the ICC has announced. The ICC held a successful trial of a similar broadcast during the ODI series between Australia and South Africa in November 2014. This World Cup has had some controversial umpiring decisions - the boundary catch that dismissed Zimbabwe's Sean Williams in their match against Ireland, Chris Jordan's run out against Bangladesh and also James Anderson's run out in their match against Australia, has drawn criticism from fans and experts.

It is important to get the decisions right irrespective of whether communications is aired .... Though listening to the communications could help viewers to understand why a particular call was made

Jordan's run out against Bangladesh has to be the most ridiculous decision ever given in the history of the World Cup. No wonder these kinds of decisions lead to conspiracy theories.

Otherwise they would not have been abLe to review his not out call, which was indeed a howler. Teams need to realize that DRS is likely not gonna flip 50-50 decisions, and will end up with Umpire's call in that situation. Of 72 reviews, only 17 have been successful. Teams need to stop wasting DRS on marginal decisions and use it only for howlers.
