The 28 year old jinx to continue at Bangalore

Recommended Posts

Let's face it. With our pace bowling options reduced to Pathan, VRV Singh, and Ishant it seems a lost cause at Bangalore and India will need to wait another few years before defeating Pakistan in a test series in India. Pakistan have been touring India with progressively weakened sides the last couple of times and it's disappointing to see this happening. As usual, the pitch is going to be a featherbed at Bangalore with some spin coming into play on the last couple of days and there will be assistance for reverse swing. On the first 3 days our bowling attack will struggle to take Pakistan's wickets and they will pile up a huge first innings score regardless whether they bat first or second and will also have ammunition in Akhtar's reverse swing to bowl us out for something substantially less and wrap up the test match. Our only chance and hope is some great batting performance from the team where they can somehow score 550+ and ensure a draw. The other option of course is to send a SOS to Bal Thackrey and have the Bangalore pitch dug up so that it starts turning from the first ball and have three spinners operate on it and hope for a favorable result in a 3 day test. If it's the usual Bangalore track there will only be one winner in this match and the 28 year old jinx will continue.

There is hope for India... Rain threat for Bangalore Test http://www.rediff.com/cricket/2007/dec/06rain.htm

The weather forecast for the city on Saturday, the opening day of the Test, is heavy rain, with temperatures between 20 and 23 degrees celcius. The Met department also says the city will experience showers on Sunday too, with temperatures between 20 and 24 degrees celcius. Since Bangalore is situated at high altitude, it could experience rain throughout the week. There could be a serious problem with the light also, as Bangalore has been experiencing a weather change thanks to a trough of low depression off the Tamil Nadu coast. These days the light in the city fades by around 1500 IST, and by 1700 hours it gets really dark. The organisers are keeping their fingers crossed. In case it rains, there may be only a three-day game as the forecast for Monday is good, the met department pointed out.
