it does if you are super quick' date=' bowling 145 plus. Unadkat was never that quick. 135ish pace wont do much. Now he does not even bowl 135. He has not developed his fast twitch muscles further due to him not trying to bowl quick. You wont bowl quick until you try to bowl quick.[/quote'] I meant why would he go line and length route than try to increase pace, get stronger etc.He was already bowling close to 140 in U19,could have increased

Dont think a lot of coaches in India encourages a pace bowler who is trying to bowl quick but spraying. He was reasonably quick in U19 but wayward. Later, he became accurate but was not quick and then we do not have support system for pacers to guide them how to get stronger and stay fit. Also, on those pitches like Rajkot, you will have to bowl long spells and lot of overs every day.

My point is that you said that he was never that quick, when for an 18 year old he was. If he had worked on it, he would've obviously become a quicker bowler.

Look at Jamie Overton from England who was hitting 150KPH in U19 WC in 2012 that is what you call quick and an exceptional talent or Kagiso Rabada from SA who was hitting 145KPH in U19 in UAE last year. Unadkat had a few deliveries over 135 but mainly was in 130-135 range. Monu Kumar was quicker than him in last year's U19 WC consistently between 135-140K range. Unadkat should have developed better which he did not because he sacrificed pace for line and length. Bowling quick is a hard work and dont think we have right guidance and support in place for young players in domestic cricket.
