Warner's average in ODIs is 34. That doesn't mean much. His future replacements (Nevill and Whiteman) average around 25 in List A.

Paine would need a LOT and I mean a LOT of runs. The finger injury he copped screwed him big time and that was one injury Cricket Australia got wrong, they rushed him back and he did it again. Has very little confidence in his keeping as a result.

No he is in the side because Wade makes Germaint Jones look positively brilliant! The worst keeper I have ever seen play for Australia, Wade.
brendan07 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Chris Hartley? Old? :hmmm: If we were talking purely for the Ashes, he would be a chance. The general consensus is Whiteman needs 12 months, maybe 24 months. Hartley is a bit old to be relying on him for 2 years.

Take Gilchrist out, would most teams be happy with a keeper averaging 35 who can strike at 80+.....most would.

In fact Clarke was pushing for a few other keepers. He actually got over ruled. Bottom line, it wasn't Clarke, was actually the selectors at the time.

BeautifulGame Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 IIRC Haddin was bought in after the homework saga becoz he is well respected in the dressing room and capable leader.They made him VC as well.So not sure u can say Clarke brought him in And its not like Haddin perform and played on reputation.He was one of Australia's best batsmen in both Ashes.Probably their best bat in the home Ashes.If not for his continuous rescue acts Australia most likely would have lost the Ashes

Don't look too far Peter Nevill (NSW) will be the keeper for 2 years. Sam Whiteman (WA) is the next long term one. Nevill is 31, so he is a short term fix.

The Australian way is to play really hard, make it uncomfortable for the opposition (i.e. sledging, sendoffs- within reason). However after the game head to the bar and have a beer with them.:hatsoff:

It was far from bullying, maybe you need to look up the definition, it was giving your opposition an enthusiastic send off in a hard fought game, is the nation you support guilty for doing the same thing. You need to harden up mate.
