Yuvrj was pathetic in 2nd innings. A few bouncers and you could see he did not want to be there. No attempt to battle and tough it out. If he does not have the heart for a battle then see you later
Why did he continue then when he had already been struck on the hand and later in the ribs. Why didn't he retire like a coward? Yuvraj actually has the technique to handle the short ball as the the sky commentators were showing but Raina loses his technique and bottles it after a couple of near-misses. Yuvraj's dismissal was similar to Mukund's, so should we all call for his head too. There more test cricket these guys play the better they will get at facing short balls on bouncy tracks rather than the flatbeds in India.

You talk like Yuvraj is 19 year old kid playing his first series.

Neither Yuvraj nor Raina look like test players in these conditions, especially against this attack. On subcontinental tracks however both of them may do well. From the looks of it, Yuvraj appeared a bit more comfortable than Raina - that only says how poor Raina was and not how good Yuvraj was in this test match. That said, what was the motive in picking Yuvraj in the squad ? If the selectors believed that Yuvi needs another run (not that Yuvraj has not gotten any chances before), then playing him for one test & then dumping him the next, especially when Raina failed miserably in both innings (and Yuvi got a 50) does not make sense. If OTOH, Yuvraj was picked as an injury cover, then dumping him is ok - assuming selectors want to persist with Raina. As for Yuvraj's 50, i watched his entire innings. He scored bulk of his runs against the spinners. Personally, I think it is unfair to dump Raina. He scored runs in WI when many of his peers failed. He scored a 100 in the warm up when his peers failed. He scored 70 odd at Lords when his peers failed. Trent Bridge is the sorta pitch where if an upcoming player succeeds you know he will likely go on to become a star, but its not the kinda wicket where we can read much into failures. I'll play Raina over Yuvraj. Yuvraj has an easier picking - he has a better chance of getting in as a replacement for Bhajji.

End of the series for Yuvraj.
Hopefully, this concludes the Yuvraj festivities to the satisfaction of Punjabis around the world as everyone can see that he doesn't make the grade.
