King
Yup both Yuvi and Pathan did their best to help win a spot in the test team. Can't be said the same about Gambhir or Karthik. Link to comment
fineleg
KKD should be replaced in the squad. (well he can go as "backup keeper", but there is a chance for Parthiv Patel as well). Gambhir - maybe Chopra will take the spot in the squad. Link to comment

kabira
well bharat, he has improved his keeping after that. Link to comment
bharat297
I hope so ... but I feel Karthik is a better keeper batsman than Patel. Link to comment
chanakya
Patel better batsman than Kartik, I amnot sure that Kartik is a good keeper either, Well this match will give us JUST A GLIMPSE of his keeping abilities. If he drops one or two catches max it will be ok. Link to comment
ludhianvi
So one poor series is enough to kick out a player? Link to comment

Dravid
kkd should go.. as a backup keeper..and not in XI i hope pathan gets some wickets.. Link to comment
Predator_05
yes.. he is a bloody handy bat down the order.. well done.. u r definately going to Australia now.:two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up: . With most of India's first choice bowling lineup being crocked, he probably would have gone anyway. Pathan is a useful player but would you really play him as a frontline seamer ? He can only take wickets when the ball swings. India desperately need Sreesanth and RPS to recover quickly. The current bowling lineup could never take 20 Australian wickets. Link to comment
guju24
pathan should go...bez he can be prove good all rounder if he gets run like this and get some wickets too...no its time for kkd to be rested and pick shewag...lol Link to comment
living
How can you ppl come to the conclusion tht Parthiv is a better bat than KKD? Parthiv has not been scoring runs against Test attacks, whereas KKD opened for India successfully in ENGLAND!! Probably one of the hardest placed to open the innings!! Link to comment
Ram
As much as I am encouraged by Pathan's century, I wont read too much into, vis-a-vis , his position in the test team. If Sreesanth had been fit, I am sure the first choice bowling attack would have been him, RPS and Zak. But with Sree definitely missing out now, I think the team would be quite tempted to make him the 3rd seamer. The point here is, he should be in the team ONLY if can show he can pick wickets, and not for his batting. SriLanka dropped Malinga and included Maharoof for his batting, which didnt work out. You dont include utility players in test cricket, the player must be VERY good at atleast one aspect of cricket. Having said that, for now, he seems a better choice than Munaf for the third seamer. In all probability, our attack for the first test will be Zak, RPS, Irfan and Anil. Link to comment
bharat297
Yeah ... Pathan's century was good, however I will be more impressed if he can pick up some wickets here and swing the ball. Link to comment
PaiN_KiLLeR
He hasnt impressed with the ball so far even though he had Salman butt plum LBW which Koertzen turned down. With his new staright-on action he seems to have lost his deadly inswinger which got him so many wickets. Link to comment
