maniac Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Was a very underrated bowler in his playing days.....was instrumental in putting Zimbabwe on the cricketing map in the 90's and now has done a very good job with the Bangladesh bowlers :hatsoff: Ruebel used to be a joke of a bowler but now has improved leaps and bounds.....Mashrafe has been consistent and with Taskin and the kid that played today I think he is doing a fantastic job. While we go ahead and hire these losers who aren't even decent First class players as some kind of bowling experts and coaches :facepalm:

maniac Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 Our bowling was better than Bangla in WC :dontknow: Shami & Yadav were very good bowlers to begin with...yes inconsistent and blew hot and cold at times...were average in the CB series and tests before that....so if they did well in WC,credit has to be given to them for getting their act together Now Bangladesh bowlers were always poor and ridiculed,but to uplift them is always a bigger challenge-so credit has to be given to the coach.....Guys like Ruebel and Mortaza have been around forever but look different since Streak has taken over.

All I am saying is Heath Strake has more upside and credentials than some of the trash we hire as bowling coaches and now he has proven credentials....results don't lie. Now likes of Donald,Bond,Wasim are all coaching at some level,but we go and hire crap. I think Streak has proven to be a good coach

For the money BCCI can throw around,they have definetely made some WTF decisions when it came to bowling coaches...I am not saying go hire Heath Streak but all i am saying is we are missing out on some good coaches with credentials while making such desicions.

He also learning his trade. But question is whats wrong we can find with current coach?

Just because Varun and Yaduv can bowl fast doesn't mean they are good bowlers. Mustafurzir may not have the strongest arm for a fast bowler but he definitely has a brain of a smart fast bowler. Great talent and I hope he keeps getting better.

One of all time great(Denis Lilli) coaching the youngs along with other great coaches. What was the out come? How many great bowlers has that academy produced? May be a handful decent bowlers. On the other hand Wasmin Akram had been working with Indian bowlers through out the whole IPL season for past 4 years and even he couldn't turn Yaduv and E-Shant into a half decent bowler. It's just that the talent is not there. You need ingredients before you hire a master chef to make you a good meal. Every kid in India wants to be Sachin and Kholi and not many pay attention to bowling so this could be a reason why a population of one billion people can't produce a Great fast bowler.

Sreeshanth has won more tests in SOuth Africa than Wasim Akram or Waqar Younis or Shoaib Akthar has ever won there....now feck off and comeback when you have a proper argument.

He was much like Kapil dev and Chris Cairns, in the sense he was the only guy who had to do the majority of the bowling. If he had a good support from the other end, he might have been one of the better bowlers and all rounder the world has seen.
