Malcolm Merlyn Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Yes..Sickular media is the one who is spreading rumours that there 20000 RSS swayamsevaks in Nepal and tweeting with #thankyouPM. The Nepalis are angry with Thank You PM tweets?:omg: Or they are disgusted by the way sickular media is going to their house(what remains)and asking questions, asking them to speak in Hindi, invading privacy, asking someone to repeal again and again that who he/she lost or asking priests how much salary they get etc etc etc. Dont see them tweeting RSS go back or Modi go back.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Twitter doesnt track Nepal trends. How are people saying that such and such topic are trending?
Sachin=GOD Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Nepal govt wants NDRF to wind up operations. Sources to @ibnlive Nepal doesn't appreciate the undue publicity in India during time of crisis
Sachin=GOD Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Two facts which I have held for long are proved once again. 1. Indian Media is disgusting and would undoubtedly rank among the crappiests in the world. 2. Modi govt is all about PR. The was Modi govt and other "parivar" organization used EarthQuake as PR opportunity is shameful. Agree on both points.

diga Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Pakistanis are behind a lot of misinfo againist India plus the Maoists. The thing is that these people have little clout in Madhesi areas which are very pro India and hence they limit their drives to Kathmandu valley. Yes.. check this http://www.dailyo.in/politics/nepal-earthquake-ndrf-army-selfie-rss-india-pakistan-china-kathmandu/story/1/3490.html With Modi government going all out to help Nepal, India's friends in the neighbourhood are feeling left out. China and Pakistan, it is believed, have complained to the Nepalese government that the Modi sarkar is more interested in self-promotion than in genuinely helping. Reporters accompanying Indian relief helicopter missions were cited as an example of Indian aggrandisement. Much to the dismay of Indian media, the Nepali government since has barred journalists from accompanying relief helicopters. The concerned Army and Air Force officers tried to explain that they were willing to carry Nepali, Pakistani and Chinese journalists so that the world could gauge how bad the situation actually was. After a 24-hour deadlock, better sense prevailed and now even international journalists are accompanying Indian Air Force's rescue helicopters to far-flung areas of the quake ravaged country.

amiret Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 link please? You have already posted 1 link . Click the 2nd link . Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), the Nepalese arm of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), on Tuesday, decided to send out relief and rescue parties comprising its activists in eight areas most affected by Saturday's earthquake. http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/nepal-earthquake-rss-relief-work-kathmandu-hindu-swayamsevak-sangh/1/432672.html Senior RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabale, who is in Nepal to coordinate relief activities with the HSS, told the Economic Times, "There have been conflicting reports that RSS has sent off its people to Nepal for relief work, that is not true. Our volunteers of HSS have started work, but they are Nepalese.” http://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/that-s-not-us-rss-steps-in-to-deny-nepal-rescue-act-tweet/article1-1341417.aspx

amiret Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Cant see anything except the video this is dated 27 Apr.. whatever Rahul Kanwal posted was on 30 Apr.Do you have anything latest? 29th April Vaidya said RSS would be working in Nepal through only its arm HSS. He said: "The eight areas identified for sending relief and rescue missions will have only HSS activists. As of now, we are not injecting any RSS member." The media has been giving out several contending claims regarding the number of RSS volunteers having gone to Nepal but all of them are untrue." http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/nepal-earthquake-rss-relief-work-kathmandu-hindu-swayamsevak-sangh/1/432672.html

Whatever it is, RSS was just not there for only PR..you or Raghav may disagree, but they have done some good work too
diga Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 sorry for digressing..any idea what triggered this? Times of IndiaVerified account @timesofindia Nepal asks all nations to end rescue ops, seeks India's help in rehabilitation http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/south-asia/Nepal-asks-all-nations-to-end-rescue-operations-
Malcolm Merlyn Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 sorry for digressing..any idea what triggered this? Many things.Least of all pressure from China to stop Indian relief OPs which they cant do hence stopping all relief OPs.China and Pakistan havent been able to do much plus except in kathmandu valley where this Indian media gk back thing was going on in a few places rest of nepal has appreciated Indian help.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Doctor teams personally known to me are in Nepal on behalf of RSS.
Gollum Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Don't know why RSS is being dragged about in this threads by the usual suspects. They hare doing their best, have helped those in need like they do always. Blame our stupid media. Not Army, NDRF, GOI officials, Indian doctors, volunteers, RSS..
Number Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Keeping Indian govt. aside on the matter I can say the quality of Indian Media would among the poorest in the world. I am pretty sure most of the Indian journlist who are covering this tragedy wouldn't know that where was the epicentre of the earthquake or a richter scale 6 is 10 times stronger than richter scale 5. Most of the people who go in Media at ground level are people who go for extortion. There is hardly any intellingent kid in India who opts for Media as career choice. I agree with you on that. However my point was, Nepal govt or Nepali people being angry on what Indian news channels are showing on their programs regarding Indian govt's rescue efforts makes no sense to me. It shouldn't even matter to them. But going to people who are still recovering from the tragedy and shoving some inappropriate and insensitive questions down their throat is what will make them angry and hence those channels/media persons doing so deserve all the ridicule they get.
sticky wicket Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 dont see anything wrong with media's approach, maybe a abit crass in their approach, but every country's government with tacit support from their media blow their own trumpet during relief activities to promote warm feeling of doing something within their general population. I have seen likes of BBC done it (all covering British activities only), Al Jeezera (covering Qatar aid to Egypt), Deutsche Welle for Germany.... I reckon the Nepalese government are being sissy due to their own pathetic response and ditto for the lame twitteratis. PS: besides many governments and institutions announce token cash donations without ever actually sending the cash...and same for Nepal So I am glad to hear about the excellent progress humanitarian effort by Indian Army and other Indian institutions, and it is worth every minute of advertising this to us in India AND the World.
Sachin=GOD Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 sorry for digressing..any idea what triggered this? Actually it seems they have stopped rescue operations not relief operations. Its been almost 10 days since the quake so its fair to assume that possibilities of rescuing people is very, very remote but now the even bigger task of providing relief to hundreds of thousands (or maybe millions) will happen, maybe at a bigger scale.
amiret Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Nepal has quietly asked India not to send old clothes as part of relief for earthquake victims, saying in the Himalayan republic saying it did not want “leftover food", officials from both countries have confirmed. Nepal’s objection to old clothes came to light recently when the first wagon carrying relief supplies by train, reached the dry port at Birgunj, 10-odd km from Raxaul, India’s last border district in Bihar. Indian officials said, on detecting old clothes the very first day the exercise began, the Nepalese authorities not only rejected the consignment, but minced no words in conveying to their Indian counterparts that “leftover food in plate should not be served to them”. http://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/nepal-earthquake-india-relief-material-old-clothes/article1-1344053.aspx
