That depends. In the warmup game against the Vics, open with Sehwag and Dravid and have a middle order of Laxman, Tendulkar, Ganguly and Yuvraj. Thanks to Niranjan Shah being a f*cking visionary who decided the players are professional and don't need more than one warmup, that's all we get to see. So based on that match, pick between Sehwag and Jaffer to keep the Dravid/Tendulkar/Ganguly/VVS middle order intact, or go with Jaffer/Dravid opening to accomodate Yuvraj at 6. ... of course, if both Sehwag and Yuvraj choose to use that game to produce big hundreds, then we should have fun debates.

I am skeptical about Sehwag. He might not feature in the first test. He will play Perth definitely. We need a blazing start there.

I was watching the Perth Twenty20 recently, and loved the sight of the ball flying around. There's bounce, and there are bowlers capable of exploiting it. Tait bowled some deliveries that seared past the batsmen's faces, and when Gilchrist took them, they were still climbing. Lee banged it in on a good length and got very good bounce - but at the same time, there were plenty of runs on offer. What stood out was one shot from Brendon McCullum. Lee banged in a shorter one wide, McCullum cut it at shoulder height and sent it for a huge six. India will need that sort of attitude at Perth. A positive, fearless mentality without the players being intimidated by the bounce and pace in the track. Sehwag certainly won't be intimidated or worried. The ball may swing in the day, depending on the Fremantle Doctor, but it won't seam that much. And if there's pace or bounce, he's one of the best batsmen in the world to capitalize on it.

OP is cra.p . My boxing day lineup with this batting lineup in this particular order - Yuvraj Jaffer VVS Ganguly Tendulkar Dravid Dhoni Pathan Kumble Zaheer RP Singh I would play VVS at No 3 . He has the best success in Australia batting at No 3. Play Yuvi as the opener and we have a right left combination at the opening slot . I would swap places between Ganguly and Sachin.Ganguly is in better form and he batted so well as No 4 in the last test. Dravid has to be moved down the order because he is not in the best of form. Play Pathan for god's sake and not Harbhy on MCG . Harby should play only in Sydney or Adeliade although I consider him as a passenger.

am big fan of Yuvraj, so want him in the eleven, but since that doesn't seem likely... atleast to begin with, i guess if iwere in Kumble's shoes i'll ask him if he'd like to open with Jaffer, he says yes... he's in & sehwag out. so my eleven Yuvraj (or) Sehwag Jaffer Dravid Tendulkar Ganguly Laxman Dhoni Kumble Ishant sharma ( he has the makings of another srinath, atleast, for me...lets see....) exactly.. i think harisampat might reverse his decision of not pickin dravid in playin 11.. and might actually place him in the 11 again.. i mean how can u bloody leave The Wall out from the team? Hari, just like how u applied the logic that last time around Sehwag scored well in Australai. why don't u apply same logic that last time around Dravid too scored well in Aus.. as much as i would love to see sehwag play.. i don't want Dravid to be dropped in any of the 4 test. i alwayz knew u r an anti-dravid and ur post in the other thread exposed it..

i am little apprehensive about the batting of Ganguly in Australia..aussie bowlers will make his life hell in australia.... and with failure in prctice match and in first test match..he will be the one who will make way for Yuvi.. Sehwag...now everyone would be praying for his form and his game... he needs a mental coach who will clear his web clogs...and a strong captain... with backing of Kumble and support of Dravid and Sachin...i am sure he will play his games freely and with gay abandon.,.. and his off spin option is also an asset when we will be playing with one specialist spinner... his all round abilities...will surelky help team india...

i really think Australians are good at sorting out players, so going by that logic, Ganguly , Sehwag will really have a tough time there, not to forget our very own Sachin Ramesh Tenduljar , who may get a DOUBLE TON AGAIN to pleazee his statistical fans, but is hardly going to be enough to WIN the series. Yuvraj ,jAffer are the surprise package we have this time. So is Ishant who i'll back , he's got atleast the ability to remove the tail enders. Forgot to add about Dravid Laxman, both are proven performers in Australian pitches

VVS got out only once in this series. He is in a terrific form . And to suggest dropping Dravid in Australia is foolhardy. I don't know what Mr Hari is thinking. And as regards to scoring fast , send VVS at No 3 which happens to be his favorite slot , the hard bouncy wickets favor his kind of batting where the hard ball comes nicely to the bat ... he will score at a brisk pace...
