Should the citizens take the bribery from politicians as norm and accept it? I am not Telugu, yet I cant understand his laughable defense? His MLA was caught redhanded , has he taken any action? Or we have come to a state where these things have become norm?

But i was asking this question separately nothing to do with his bribe case, maybe i should start another thread for it. Anyone who commits crime should be punished. But as am not knowledgeable about this issue i wanted to know who did the taping and why. This is high level taping that too of a CM. I am 100 % sure from the way he is speaking he is guilty. But who authorized and is it allowed. I think in america unauthorized taping etc is not admissible in court maybe i am wrong but i always thought that was the case when i saw some lawyer serials. i was wondering when naidu can get out of this situation based on this.

Tapping is just an allegation Naidu is using. We dont even know if that was done. As uberbestfriend mentioned. It could be just the MLA who did the recording. It is very simple to record a phone conversion.

Giving some project to a foreign company to Build, Operate and Transfer ( in the BOT model ) is perfectly legal in India for Infra sector AFAIK. It will not be Singapore Govt though - it will be a Singapore Company or a consortium ( where Singapore Govt might have majority stake ). Obviously the terms will need to comply to Indian laws and Indian Central Home Ministry might have to Vet it. Nothing difficult as Naidu is part of NDA. Acquiring Land,etc is Naidu's issue and he seems to be doing OK so far.

In addition his troubles with the courts are going to only get worse. CBN is systematically bleeding his party machinery. The thing is the BJP need some sort of opposition in Andhra Pradesh to grow. But despite this scandal the state is well on its way to following Orissa whereby one regional party totally dominates. At the same time the TDP outside hyderabad region is bleeding to the TRS.
