Yes' date=' but the real determining factor for Ashwin will be how much he improves his outside-SC stats in the future, i.e. will he become a Chandra, a Kumble or a Bhajji?[/quote'] If he does his job well in the SC, I am happy for him, and i am pretty sure he has learned from these overseas tours at the beginning of his career. That augurs well. Ashwin looks all set to better his record in NZ, Eng and SA. I'd be wary about Australia.

The hardest place for off-spinners, barring Lyon (who knows what to do there).

The diff is that, in the past, NZ, SA and Eng were bad players of spin and hence it was harder for spinners in Aus. Now, I'm not sure which is the worse place - possibly just about anything apart from SC, UAE and WI.
