Kohli has played only two ODIs more than Rohit, but has over 1000 more runs. A lot of variables in that, but it is a telling stat. This aside, is it controversial to want Rohit to play at the MCG?

But under fire against good opposition in tougher conditions I would back this guy anytime. Kohli will get sorely exposed on bouncy tracks where planting the foot down might not be the way. Nobody seems to have as much time as Rohit while playing strokes apart from Laxman maybe. I dare say he can be one of very best in coming years IF he keps his head right.

No , Kohli did well against SA in SA and Rohit failed badly. Kohli has his own class , he knows how to get his runs from his limited shots and build innings. Sharma has a long way to go.

But, he was averaging in the low 30s. The only reasonable conclusion is that he was not mentally strong enough, and was not focused on doing his best, i.e., undisciplined, unfocused. My only issue was that he was prematurely anointed the "future of Indian cricket" before he delivered consistent performances. Now, there is some data to back it up. Hope it keeps going for a long, long time.

Use the cricket eye to judge wether he will deliver stats in due course not wether a kid is currently giving good stats. Are his stats good enough this year folks?

Bcoz, India won't be playing any international matches from april start to september 18 next year. That'd be almost 6 months.:((

There won't be any domestic matches in that period as well.
