So Rohit has paid back the faith team management put in him. Good to see. Do what's best for the team and not individuals. Pujara fans shouldn't be too disheartened, his time will also come.

I think averages are better indicator of a good batsman. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/sri-lanka-v-india-2015/engine/records/averages/batting_bowling_by_team.html?id=10249;team=6;type=series Sharma is just ahead of Rahane, who's just been moved around in No. 3. Rohit himself averaged 33 and caused Rahane's drop as well.
Rahane's best score in the series,Infact a 100 which turned out to be most of the runs he made in this series came when he batted at No 3...so there goes the theory of his career being sabotaged to accommodate someone else....not to mention he scored a 0 and 36 in the first test where he batted in a position apparently mastered by him,the same kind of a scores Rohit is being absolutely hated upon here. Have to give Rahane a :hatsoff: for being a team man but most fans here on ICF seem to have an ulterior motive which I really don't know why,as they continue blind hating a player.

You are asking this about a batsman that played all of 13 Tests over so many years ? Let Rohit play 50 more Tests. You will get your answer. At the moment, no one including Rahane has proved himself. Potential is all we have. And Rohit has LOADS of it. If you really ask - the myth of Rahane and his technique has been shattered ( as for Rahul - he better dig a hole and hide for a few years) . At No.5, we have better options.
So what has happened to the aggressive talks of needing Rohit :hysterical: Now need to give him 50 tests to show how clueless his technique is ? :lmao: We already saw how great it is when he asked Steyn to come to India and embarrassed himself lol Rahane not proved himself ? Show u clearly have no idea what u are talking about or just trolling .So pointless debating it

So one failure (the zero) and we should judge on him that ? Seriously I expected better argument tbh That 36 he was the last Batsmen out after the likes of Rohit were cluelessly exposed we collapsed for 100 odd .How exactly is that a failure ? Rahane is not inconsistent .He had 3 poor tests in England after Lords Otherwise he has been remarkably consistent with the bat . The problem with Rahane ave is he kept getting umpiring decisions .Lords Adelaide Melbourne top of my head ,there were couple more as well. Despite these bowlers he nearly averaged 50 overseas (before Lanka tour) and nearly bad 100s in every country we toured. Just go by test by test 1st test in SA scored 47 in 1st inns 2nd test scored 51 (no) and 96 was the last man standing both times NZL 1st test 26 and 18 (relative failure) 2nd test Scored 100 in 1st inngs Eng 32 and 24 in first test (relative failure but got decent starts ) 100 at Lord's and got a horrible umpiring error in 2nd innings Scored 50s in both innings in 3rd test Failed poorly in 4th and 5th test admittedly Aus Scored 50 in 1st inn and got poor umpiring error in 2nd test Scored 81 in first inn in Brisbane 147 (Another poor UMP error ) and 48 in Melbourne 13 (Another poor umpiring error) and in 2nd innings batted out to save the test In entire span of our overseas tours in last 2 years he had a couple of bad tests in England apart from that he was damn good . Yet somehow he is horribly inconsistent and can be switched around with Rohit Sharma sp that we can keep our best no.3. Pujara warming the bench ?

Nohit batted 6 innings but not once did he top score for the team Even R Ashwin top scored once. LOL
Consistency is much better. Try again with your phaltu arguments
