Also both his 50's were almost match setting up innings.....even his 20 odd in the first innings got high praise from critics....It was a very good innings in a very tricky phase...He never actually had a disastrous innings...maybe the 1st test,he was below par and that's about it. The hate he gets is definitely not proportional to his performance

The key to know consistency is to knock off the highest and lowest scores and then take average ( i.e outliers removed ). Yeah now lets start cherry picking stats :giggle:...you can't hide facts and also he has been India's most consistent this series regardless of what you think....Played 4 crucial innings out of 6. 2 critical 50's one that won the game and the other that set up a game....2 tricky partnerships where his own flair and natural stroke making ability was sacrificed to buckle down uncharacteristically ...first the Rahane 100 and then the Pujara 100 would not have been possible without his support....so that is 4 MVP like innings out of 6.

He is our 2nd highest scorer because Vijay (our best batsmen)and Dhawan are injured and Pujara has just played this one test And Rahane was shifted to no.3 to accommodate him at 5 .So Rahane also was forced bat in a unfamiliar position in last 2 tests . Before the start of second innings of this test Pujara had nearly scored as many runs in one innings as Rohit had in the entire series (5 innings combined ) .And the hate is becoz he was played ahead of the same Pujara in the first two tests . The reality is he only batted better than Rahul as others were injured(Vijay and Dhawan) dropped (Pujara) unfairly shifted(Rahane) to accommodate Rohit And Rohit is the only specialist bat (Apart from Vijay ) who hasn't scored a 100 for us in this series

Because we did that and selected Rohit by dropping Pujara .Instead of bringing the natural no.3 in Pujara to replace Rohit we sacrificed Rahane in an unfamiliar role to keep Rohit in the team We have Pujara who averages 80 in sub continent better that anyone in cricketing history yet we dont play him at no.3 because we want to accommodate Rohit .Tell me why shouldnt we put up with above average performances when we have our best player of spin bowling in the bench? Please dont tell me Rohit deserves no.5 ahead of Rahane because Rohit batted ahead of Rahane at 5 in SA tour.Only after his poor tecnique was exposed and Rahane proved himself with runs was he promoted to no.5 Now we shifted him where he averages 50 so as to accomodate Rohit again? So why the feck should we not be complaining about Rohit when the whole team is being messed with so as to select Rohit Most wont complain (atleast i wont) if he selected as no.6 in the side .But if we want go with five bowlers in sub continent then Rohit has no business being in the team.Both Pujara and Rahane are far superior players than him .So its natural he gets the hate when he is selected

In this Test - batting: Mishra and Ashwin > Nohit As tail they have overachieved (esp mishy), as a prime bat, Nohit has underachieved. (And those two contribute by bowling as well)
