gakgupta Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 seriously guyz.....I have seen him bat yesterday.....he was little uncomfortable at start of the innings but after that he looked really comfortable......with his ability he looks better batsmen and should start playing at no:6.......but there should not be any extra pressure else we will repeat irfan pathan episode
sensible-indian Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 We have gone through these drills.Ashwin whenever he comes up doesn't do good.In fact, I would keep him below Mishra just to insult his ego and get him to play well. Don't think he will run out of partners everytime.
G_B_ Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 nohe is bowling like a dream right now. If he wants to come in at 8. He should come in at 8.

HippoSucks Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 He is a good batsman but it might negatively affect his bowling if he has the additional pressure of playing as a proper batsman. Having him one position up won't make a major difference in the runs he contributes either, so it isn't worth taking the risk.
jf1gp_1 Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 he looked better than dhawan why stop at 6 make him open ?
express bowling Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Batting at no.6 puts extra responsibilities on a player to perform more consistently as a batsman. Ashwin is our main bowler in the subcontinent. Do we want him to devote less time to practice and sharpen his bowling ?Ashwin surely has the game to become a top order batter but is not there yet, especially from a mindset point of view. I feel it is better to play him at no.7 and let him improve his batting in the normal course.
