South African cricket on a decline ?

This topic is not related to the recent series loss by SA, but I have this feeling that cricket in SA is having the same fate as that of New Zealand or West Indies.

The most important point here is that South Africa is one of those rare countries where white people are given a status of secondary citizens and live a lower quality of lifestyle compared to blacks. And cricket in South Africa is seen as a white man's sport, rugby and football are much bigger than cricket.

I remember watching few highlights of rebel tours in 1980s on ESPN channel few years ago, and the attendance in South African grounds was amazing. A lot of people enjoyed tests with a barbeque party, Graham Pollock, Clive Rice and Garth Le Roux were given the same reception as Ian Botham at Lords or Dennis Lillee at MCG. Cricket culture was strong.

Now South African cricket tradition seems to have totally disappeared, they heavily rely on BCCI and IPL for financial stability. Already few countries play cricket, SA should not decline like WI.

Any country when it loses legends (to retirement) like Pollock, Kallis, G. Smith, Boucher - it will take some time to create the new team, but SA is still a STRONG side.

Any country where you have to play 4 quota players and most of them are useless can never win, despite giving their best white players are unsure whether they will be selected or not while black players are sure they can't be kicked out. Hopeless situation

NZ is improving unlike West Indies. Also for NZ's recent success in cricket..Crowd are also coming in good numbers. Still Rugby and other sports are more popular there but at least Cricket in regaining popularity nowadays. 

And in Caribeans many even don't recognize Chris Gayle..

Sorry state of cricket in carribean....it's a huge loss for cricket...

(But still of coarse Cricket way behind than Rugby, football or even motor sports. It's like 'Kabaddi' regaining popularity in India..
However what I meant was that Unlike West Indies Cricket in NZ is in a rising popularity.

Yes. Cricket is predominantly a white man's game in South Africa. Since, Whites are going to different countries, leaving South africa, you will see a decline in their cricket. Zimbabwe is a great example for it. Once, the whites left the country, they are no longer a recognizable force in world cricket. I'm afraid SA is going the same way and you read it first here.
