Why is Himanhsu Rana dropped who did so well and Jaffer picked?

Armaan Jaffer was tearing attacks in Cooch behar trophy after not being selected,I guess only to prove a point and get selected.

Will have to be seen how he performs if he gets a game.

He didn't do anything in the real tournament that was Challenger trophy. Now, suddenly he is selected and replaces Himanshu Rana who scored runs.

Jaffer is far inexperienced in comparison to Rana who has Ranji trophy 100s at 17.

Armaan Jaffer has Wasim Jaffer backing, influence still goes a long way in Indian cricket in age-group competitions. This is the reason Sanju Samon's father got himself transferred from Delhi to Kerala. I still remember his statement was something like this: Delhi is a big city with big people, i would not have been able to do anything there for Sanju.

Guys we R insulting a guy like Dravid by questioning the team, Armaan Jaffer was prodigious at age cricket n he has done well in Cold Behar trophy, sure he has talent lets wish the team well, That's why Mumbai Ranji team is mediocre they do not pick up deserving young guns n pickup useless guys like Sandhu n other guys, S Khan, Harmeet, Armaan, will rot most probably waiting for a fair deal, Where is the pacer Sachin n others were excited about, M Amir.

Indian team looks strong, where is M Sayyid n other younger U19 players from last year?

Its not suddenly, he was selected over non performers like virat singh, humanshu rana must have got some flaws for the conditions which would have caught Rahul's eyes. I feel it's a good selection, I was expecting it.

I feel bad for Rinku Singh from UP, he was a part of U19 zonal team for central and has been doing really well in vijay hazare too.

Ishan Kishan has not done anything spectacular in the 2 tournaments, don't know how he got selected leave aside captaincy.

Arman Jaffer, rabit out of hat. He was pathetic in U19 challenger trophy. He didnt play any of the pre-tournament. Why is he suddenly picked?

you have to ask? the mumbi lobby will get the peon into the team if he is their only option, these guys are pathetic.

Virat Singh I wasnt impressed but Himanshu is as impressive as you find at his age. You dont score a Ranji trophy 100 at  Lahli without being good. Jaffer wasnt really impressive in Challengers. Himanshu scored runs in warmups and Sri Lanka series while opening the batting. Also, Virat Singh had the best average among batsmen in the triseries.

seems to be the case. There is no Mumbai player in this team otherwise.
