Texy Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Love Apple laptops. Personally own macbook air and macbook pro. Heard good things about Surface Pro...haven't used one myself yet. All pc laptops these days look shyt....except DELL XPS series.

MK55 Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Dell XPS 15 9550 (launched in Nov I guess) is also a good alternative to Macbook pro if windows is what you prefer. Also, 2015 version Macbook pro will be a bit outdated. Rather wait for the next gen upgrade of macbook pro9550 has got an almost ultrabook like body but features some what comparable to a gaming laptop. Skylake 6th gen quad core HQ (most ultrabooks will have 6th gen but low end ULV processors), discrete Nvidia graphics, SSD. There was also a 4k touch model but some would prefer non-touch on a 15' screen. These specs will be an overkill for some users and in such cases going for a 13' ultrabook would make more sense. zen 1

If it is 50/50 Surface pro is THE best option. If you worry about price go for surface pro 3 which in itself is a great device

This thread is more about discussing the latest high end laptops, and also see what the latest innovations are Nothing much to innovate there except messing around with interfaces, weight, size etc. I did play around with surface pro.. really loved it. Dell venue is a low budget one. it is also reasonable.

zen Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 I think that the displays are getting better (for e.g. OLED option on X1 Yoga), and like you said innovations in weight and size factors .... The 2-in-1s have evolved nicely too and represent the growth area
