Why did Jadeja not finish his quota then ?  He is a left arm spinner who was bowling well in that match.

Also, there are quite a few right handed batters who are not that comfortable against good quality off-spin.

because Dhoni didnt want Jadeja to bowl in slog overs. We already had Bumrah, Nehra and Pandya to bowl in last 5-6 overs. Yuvraj had bowled Jadeja's share of overs too along with 2 overs of Ashwin. Spinners are never a good choice in slog overs unless ball is turning square. Jadeja is also not good in slog overs. He can got for big overs.

i thought there was a case for Jadeja to bowl the last over vs. Aus with 2 right handers in.

You will never see spinners bowling in slog overs until a raging turner. Even likes of Murli, Ajmal, and Narine have been thrashed in end overs.  Spinners are a big risk in end overs.

Captains tend to plan accordingly, so that their top bowlers get a chance to finish their quota.  Like bowling Jadeja in place of Pandya for one more over in the middle.

Shane Watson was batting and you know what Watson can do to left arm spinners. He has tonked Jadeja in the past too. This was one of the factor too of Jadeja not bowling full quota.
