Recently Bhuvi was bowling from different release points and it helped it.

 

Why don't bowlers try it when nothing is working for them?

Bowling good line and length is a tough job. you have to really good with your accuracy to try all the angles. Recently I have seen Ryan Harris use the crease very well.

Umesh Yadav used  different angles in the last test vs South Africa and again in the first test vs WI.  Got 5 wickets in both those tests....and did not use it in the next test. Failed badly.

umesh bowls too much on leg stump. May be the wide of the crease works well for him.

Apart from creating an angle, it allowed him to bowl with a  slightly round-arm slingy action. The trajectory of the deliveries from such an action are more difficult to pick by the batsmen  and he was getting more reverse swing too.

Agreed with most. It is one of the most under utilized skills in cricket these days.
