Virat Kohli scored 13th century of his test career

Kohli is now the 3rd highest in terms of conversion rate at 52 %  ( no. of centuries / no. of 50+ scores ) among  all test players ever who have scored 10+ test centuries.  ( Only Bradman and Headley have done better )

 

13 centuries in only 48 tests means a 100+ score  every 3.7 tests....which is excellent.

 

This is Kohli's  4th century at home ( has 9 centuries away from home )   and 6th as the captain of India.

 

The pitch was not very easy to bat on but he has played very well with almost no false shots. Left a lot of deliveries too.

Conversion rate is high, but no of 50+ scores is less (30% of his innings are 50+). He needs to be more consistent with that.

 

His century scoring frequency is similar to what greats had in their career or most of their career. However his fifty scoring frequency is less than most of them.

Kohli is averaging 45 now and needs to up that.

 

One problem every Indian batsman is facing these days is that we are getting really low scoring matches at home in the last 33 months.  Which is why we have atleast 4 world class test batsmen now and no one averaging 50 or more  in tests.

Low home scores are not the reason for Pujara and Vijary to have sub 50 average. Vijay is isn't 50+ type batsman and Pujara well, he is averaging 65+ in Asia.

Kohli,Rahane and Pujara will all end up with 50+ avg in their career.These 3 are certainly world class.I have very high hopes from Rahul except them.Vijay is a steady opener,I don't expect him to be in high 40's or 50+.
