Australia are scared

New Aussi media trick Sydney: The ongoing controversy involving off spinner Harbhajan Singh’s alleged racist remarks against Andrew Symonds has evoked strong reactions in the media here. It has also led former cricketers to ask whether Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting’s complaint, which led to the on field umpires laying the serious charge of racist abuse against the Indian off-spinner, was done to psyche the Indians going on a strong note in the Test match. While the newspapers here gave intensive coverage to the controversy, television channels especially the official broadcaster of the series Channel 9, aired strongly divided opinion amongst its panel of experts. The Sydney Morning Herald carried a factually incorrect and ill- informed story on casteism in Indian cricket. The story gave an account of caste divisions and its role in team selection. The paper gave a list of players and divided them according to their caste, though not counting Harbhajan and Wasim Jaffer as they were non Hindus. The writer of the piece, Andrew Stevenson, specified how Brahmin players always found it easy to make it and pointed out that seven men in the current team were from the higher castes. The article suggested that Vinod Kambli had been booed and mocked at his home ground, Wankhede Stadium, because he was from a lower caste. Mercifully, it quoted former Indian captain Ravi Shastri as saying that so many higher caste boys in the team was just a coincidence. “I think they are just being picked because they are Indians and good enough to play for their country.†The Australian, meanwhile, wrote a pointed piece against Harbhajan describing the incident as thus. “On the way to a breezy 63, Harbhajan made a point of seeking out Symonds. Tendulkar wandered over to join his batting partner and waved away Matthew Hayden as he turned to offer some well-chosen words to the noisy Harbhajan. Unimpressed that Harbhajan had reopened a personal feud with Symonds, Ponting marched over and let Harbhajan know he should pull his head in.â€

Aussies wants to divert attention After the shocking decisions made by the umpires which has already made an impression in this match, the Aussies wants to divert the attention of the media to Harbhajan issue so that nothing much wud be said or written by the media .Its ridiculous.

clearly ricky ponting was hoping against hope that he would not have to face bhajji next test... explains his complaint and why not, if theyre not giving stumpings, not hearing edges, not seeing lbw's, they might as well start hearing racial abuses too, bucknor, what a guy :finger:

can Australia bowl India out...unlikely but equally unlikely is a Indian win, perhaps both sides content to settle for a draw....australia doesn't have the attacking qualities in the bowling dept. to bowl the Indian team out..... will India be aggressive and go for the runs? i dont see an aggressive enough side there to do this... your thought? /pls leave out all umpiring, on field disputes etc out of this one, let's discuss the merits of the teams pls...

Err...Aus can bowl India out, they dont need any spectacular bowlers for that. Indian batting has a self destruct tendency in 4th Inn
