rkt.india Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Elite athletes and, more specifically, cricket bowlers generate their energy from the ground and then transfer it up the kinetic chain, through the movement of the bowling action. This is where the term "ground up" originates. One of the largest studies - presented at the 6th World Congress on Biomechanics in Singapore - validated this method as a way of reducing the risk of injury and enhancing bowling speed. http://www.pitchvision.com/ground-up#/ tweaker 1
express bowling Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) Makes it even more important to find tall bowlers so that they get bounce despite normalized ball release heights. Also, flexibility is needed to implement this technique. Edited October 19, 2016 by express bowling
MCcricket Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 (edited) Good precursors but the process of bowling is far more complicated, good run up, load up, delivery stride, planting or blocking the left leg, height at release, also arm rotation, using wrists, holding ur action abit longer at load up so it has less time to uncoil at release. Interesting article and comments below the article, fast bowling is also about physically exploring yourself, how to maximise your natural pace, increase fitness, drills, bowling from 30 yards for me in practise helped me in increase pace alot as well, Shoaib also has good and interesting information about these things Edited October 19, 2016 by MCcricket Mosher 1
