Who misses Sehwag's test blitzkrieg in situations and batting conditions like this ?  

 

He would have smashed the daylights out of England's outside the offstump bowling on pitches like this.

 

We all remember litany of Sehwag's 150+ scores, but how many test matches has he setup for India with even 40's and 50's at run a ball and psychologically destroyed the opposition. Can think of tons of matches where Sehwag is smashing boundaries for fun and our other batters are struggling to keep the scoreboard moving. 

 

This guy is not only India's but one of test cricket's greatest ever match winners.

He was class when it came to setting up and giving us good starts and no wonder he goes down as the player who changed Indian test cricket. I think we have moved now and have become a strong team over the years so even if we do not have someone like Sehwag, we can actually manage to do fine. But if we have someone like him who can bat with an average of 50, it will be just great for us.

His biggest impact for me was that he used to take out opposition's best bowlers out of their spell. He used to make the opposition's captain to change his main bowler for the 3rd or option of a spinner so they don't bowl to our other struggling batsmen.  A lot of people underestimate that part of his game or do not focus on that part. This is what he did against Australia in that Adeliade test when he returned after a long time under Kumble's captaincy. We were struggling earlier and Australian bowlers used to start with longer bowling spells, but in the third test when Sehwag returned, Ponting was forced to use his other bowling options way early in the game.
