Malcolm Merlyn Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Restricting it to 3 is a poor decision. 3 selectors can't track or cover cricketers all over India. Lodha committee recommends that the selection panel hire scouts to look for talent. This is like govt bureaucracy.Hire more people for the same job.
express bowling Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Just like there was an interview by a panel for the national coach...the same thing should happen for selectors. A group of recently retired Indian cricketers ( who have good idea about modern cricket ) should interview the selectors and see whether they are good enough to be national selectors. They should test out their knowledge about domestic cricketers as welll as whehter they have the acumen to identify international type talent
MCcricket Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Selectors require an eye for talent n that is a natural gift, like when a coach sees a kid n identifies his potential,it's nothing to do with playing international cricket at all or even domestic cricket, he should be aware of all the domestic players, their strength, performances, vis a vis conditions, pitch opposition, stage of the game, even for example a coach like Virus coach or Sarfaraz dad or anyone who has a analytical n aware mind can be a selector msplash9 and express bowling 2
