We can't outplay Aussies on flat wkts coz they have a deeper batting lineup with Starc coming in at 9! Even Hazlewood who bats at 11 is no rabbit with the bat. That leaves turners as the only option coz we have the best spin bowling attack and supposedly the best players of spin. 1. No we dont ( only if its a lottery pitch) 2. And ha ha no we absolutely dont. IPL has destroyed young indian batsmen ability to play spin in longer formats. result- batting collapses against even the most average overseas spinner. get your head out of the cloud. We only did well because of Kohli's knocks, the whole team cannot rely on him all the time and now that he fails, the whole team fails while batting. Edited March 4, 2017 by LordPrabhzy

Offer reasons/theories as to who is responsible for these pitches being developed 2. Understand the common knowledge that this IS a conspiracy. 3. Everyone knows india are a better team so no point in mentioning performance of either team, these things are not relevant. If these rules are followed then we will uncover the truth about these pitches that we are all desperately searching for. Another brainless response. Clarification for other brain dead posters:- This thread was created because the last 6-7 tests before this series against england and bangladesh were absolute roads with 750 being scored in one of the matches, so it is very surprising that India would suddenly change the tried and tested formula from the previous 2-3 series and suddenly opt for absolute rank turners for no freaking reason, knowing fully well that our modern day batsmen are absolutely shyte against spin LordPrabhzy 1

It's a misconception that India has "always" done well on green pitches. India may have won isolated matches here or there (Headingley, one or two in SA, WACA) but have lost much more. Didn't we get bowled out for 66 and 100 in SA? Didn't we get white-washed in Eng in 2011 and 2014? Hell we were blanked 2-0 in NZ in 2003 when the greenest of green wkts were prepared. We still haven't won a series in SA and Aus and winning away from subcontinent (except WI) is still a big achievement. If we have "always done well" on green pitches then pray tell me how do we have such poor record away from sub-continent? Winning isolated games here and there every few years is not the definition of "always done well on green pitches". Edited March 4, 2017 by Ultimate_Game

We would have destroyed them on flat tracks, this aussie batting line up is very inexperienced and Indian flat tracks are not the same as australian flat beds, rank turners have never been our advantage, we even gave a 6fer to clarke with the fab 5 in the team, so we can't really claim to outplay australia on rank turners, Slow turners and flat tracks are our strength Yes I do believe the B'lore pitch was prepared the way it is deliberately for the reasons I mentioned above. We can't compete with Aussies pacers or their batting firepower on a flattish wkt and the fact we are playing catch up after losing the first test, we had no option but to prepare a "result" wkt here. And the only "result" wkt we can prepare against Aussies is a turner.

There's no denying the fact that with Ashwin and Jadeja (and backed by Jayant in some cases) we have the best spin attack in Tests. Both Ashwin and Jadeja are ranked higher than any other spinner in tests which proves my point. As for the 2ns point I guess you missed the sarcastic "supposedly" in my original comment.
rahulrulezz Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Wow and I thought our Pakistani brothers whine most of the time. Can we please give credit to Aussies please. These pitches are perfect as Aussie batters have shown us too. These pitches are to our strength and are perfect , but for some reason we haven't been able to apply ourselves. STOP BLAMING THE PITCHES YOU WHINERS!! Ultimate_Game 1

They have likes of Warner, Smith and company who will score 600+ nearly every time on flat wkts. Starc coming in at 9 is good enough to score a 100 and Hazlewwood at 11 is better than most of Test teams' no. 8 or 9. You are not going to win "Bat offs" against Aussies on a flattish wkt so you have to go with turning tracks. rahulrulezz 1

I get what you are saying but I don't agree with your opinion, I don't think this aussie batting lineup is even half as good as england, warner absolutely sucks in India, Indian flat tracks are not the same as aussie flat tracks, you see starc at 9 but you don't see shytes like wade, marsh in the middle order, but if India did follow your line of reasoning then they surely should have learnt a lesson from pune.

Warner and company suck only on turning tracks. If you give them a flattish wkts 9even the Indian ones) they will smash you. Their batting lineup is so long and deep you can't realistically expect to contain them on Indian flat tracks. This time round Aussies have done their homework and learned from their last tour. And all credit to them. Job well done by Aussies and good on them. rahulrulezz 1

As I said earlier I take my hat off to Aussies for absorbing the lessons learned from previous tours and being good enough to perform in the middle. Pitches are not the problem. It's our performance which is. As for Aussies they showed how prepared they are for this tour whereas we expected them to roll over on a turner.

On a flat track there's no batting lineup in the world which is stronger than Aussies.
