Is Ashwin really good enough to bat at #6 in test cricket?

Ashwin plays well against England and West Indies, but his performances against Australia and South Africa have been disappointing. So, I would consider the opposition while deciding the batting line-up. Against teams like Australia, our bowlers have generally not batted all that well. So, need to consider playing 6 batsmen if we don't have a decent allrounder. Then again, as philcric posted, it depends on how 6 - 9 or even 6 - 10 can bat.

Guy just seems tired also from the long season. Batting his secondary skill is going to suffer more.

I think it is a burden batting up the order. He has talent but to improve he would have to practice lot more and that takes away time from improving as a bowler
