zen Posted April 17, 2019 Share Posted April 17, 2019 I have seen (or perceived) commentators/shows use words that mean something totally different (esp. in slang) than what they are describing or where a double meaning could be intended. Below are a few words from the top of my mind recall. Will add more if I remember or hear: * Belt up = Shut up * Biggie = Poo (One commentator, may be Shastri, says something like “it is a biggie” to describe a big hit). The other meaning of biggie is even worse * Cheeky = smart ass. In American, it could mean something else though. “It is a cheeky shot” * Full Monty = the whole thing (Shastri probably meant what they did in the movie) * Filch = to steal * Nick = also mean to steal * Wind up = simply to make fun of someone * Waz = pee Cricket_Nostradamus 1 Link to comment
