Saurabh Tiwary is a seriously good talent right now, but I'm with kabira - makes no sense to make him captain when he should just be focusing on his batting at this age. Good to know Jadhav's still in the runs.

Where is the west zone squad?

With all the issues surrounding captaincy of Bengal ( Tiwary, Shukla, Ranadeb have all captained for a match or two), I think the EZ selectors went for a safe bet and chose the next best option available. Saurabh led Jharkhand well in the plate division and was the highest run getter for them scoring those runs in crunch situations. Will be interesting to see how he does in the tougher forat against some of the best players in the country.

What is Cheeka' son doing there? What did he do in this season to get in ahead of someone like Sathish who scored over 700 runs?

Well Salil, haven't watched him play because of lack of coverage as you would know, but just by checking some stats as RKT.INDIA has also quoted here, I can tell you he has had a good season if not great. Let's hope it's an exciting contest.

This watered down version of the Duleep trophy is pretty much a farce. They should revert to the older format from next season onwards with an A squad from some other country making it 6 teams.

So true, for some teams, this basically becomes a one match tournament. SO much of reward for getting picked in the zonal squad after doing well in 5-6 state level ranji games! What happened to the old days of doing well in Ranji, moving to zonal squads, making it to the ROI team or A teams and then to the national side.

complete farce, curtailed due to IPL season. there should be 5 zones playing each other home and away, so 20 games, I guess too many, not pssobke. so make it 6 teams, create a India A team and make two groups, play each other home and away. India A will be where National Academy is based.

No scorecard available for the match between CZ and EZ yet. I was hoping to watch Umesh Yadav in action and also to see of RPS has made some progress after playing 2-3 months of domestic cricket, but looks like Neo isn't interested in this match.
