I'll start. Spent my childhood in India, Europe and the US, grew fascinated by Astronomy, spent my formative years in the lovely laidback city of Lucknow, learned the Punjabi way of life in Chandigarh (some would say pseudo Punjabi), moved to Bangalore for a year before getting a doctorate in the subject I was in love with, Astrophysics. Lost interest in it and thought of earning more money in life in the industry. Love cricket, it's technicalities and intricacies and love talking about them though guys like Rahul and Ravi leave me in the smoke.Try to bring out meaningful stats to bolster the subjective view, though Dhondy beats me to it. Try to write the occasionally funny piece, though guys like Bumper, Gambit and Predator leave me far behind. Try to talk about the history of cricket, to find myself left way behind by the likes of Salil. Try to talk of technology and the likes of Varun and Rajeev make me feel I am coming from the dark ages. That is why I love this place so much, no matter how hard I try there is always someone better than me to learn from. And in the end I try to talk about secularism to be branded a pseudo secularist.:D This platform has given me a lot to talk and discuss about. Lots of friends and people with whom to bounce ideas and share thoughts with, some with whom I have done in my life outside the online and others I hope to do soon with.

Humpf, how lazy people are ! Here goes mine.. Now 23 , originally nomenclatured Sriram by doting parents , i have had to endure a fair share of nicknames by equally doting but naughty friends. A madraasi by birth and growth , I thought India didnt exist beyond the suburbs of chennai till the age of 15 , when someone showed me an India map. Personally , i will probably win the "world's most laziest guy" competition hands down ( just that i am too lazy to go and collect the prize). Passions include cricket , weapons systems , geopolitics , good music, good food ,traveling , humor and above all " Mera Bharat". Professionally , I *was* a research student in space physics till a few months ago, but it didnt take too long to dawn on me that my future lies somewhere else. An "outstanding" student at school ( if you know what i mean) , I have done 6 years of Electrical Engineering without knowing bull of what it is about. I found this site through Rajeev's videos. I have been pretty much been hooked to this place since. Guess the fact that the people here are as passionate , if not more about the game of cricket has made sure i keep visiting this wonderful community. Goals in life includes staying single forever , and if possible do a Doctorate in Political Science in my 40's, among other things. Thats about it , Cheers ! :two_thumbs_up: P.S - Wake up , my intro is over !

So you must have failed in Geography Sriram :giggle: Good to see that you intend to do a Doctorate in Political Science :two_thumbs_up: A highly underrated subject that touches the life of a lot of us on everyday basis.

Wrong side of 30. Grew up in Chennai, India. Settled in the west coast (US). Passion: Cricket, Finance, Teaching My biggest regret in my early years in the US, was missing cricket. Post WC 2003, i have had so much overdose of cricket that i no longer feel cursed in this aspect. Special thanks to selfless folks like Rajeev who spend significant portion of their personal time for others. He has made us so spoilt that we have almost begun to demand his videos. My day starts here & my day ends here. I do enuff in between to survive till tomorrow, so i can come back here again. I am no longer sure if i come here for the board or the people. I love this community to death.

hi people, chennai lad here, preparing myself for a career in gaming, but i've tried so many different career options in a short span of 5 yrs, that god knows what i may end up doing in another one year. am a gully cricket specialist, i've seen many of my logic in gully cricket working well at international level as well, too bad that nobody gets to know about it except for me and a few of my friends here. of late i lost interest in cricket seeing the appalling loss of quality. But 20-20 's changed all that , i think it is here to improve the standards and i sincerely wish it all the best for it has the potential to take cricket to a global audience.

I am 24 years old and have been an Indian team fan for nearly 15 years now. Hope God forgives me for the other 9 years I wasted doing other worthless things! I believe that this website is an exact microcosm of the eclectic bunch that are Indian Cricket Fans. I absolutely love this community. Aims in life are: - To play for India (still hoping) - To watch India win a world cup (check, thanks to MSD) - To watch IndianCricketFans blossom

Hi, I came after I saw a few videos on youtube. I used to post briefly on other ICF before it turned into pro-ganguly and anti-dravid zone. Got tired if it. stopped posting a few months ago. But didn't get a chance to search for new forum since i was moving around a lot. (I live in US and work as a IT consultant). But anyway, i am glad I found this forum. as I remember most of you guys from the ICF. especially fond of posts by gambit, shwetabh, DR, rajeev etc... especially videos from rajeev...(i may miss many excellent/good posters.. pardon me for that)... Looking for some great cricket discussions and parosi bantering.:two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up:

Kabira speaking.. used to live in USA, recently moved back to home town. extremely passionate indian cricket fan, almost sweared in front of family members when Jogi bowled wide in that last over... Growing up had 3 wishes. 1) India maul Pakistan in Pakistan (checked) 2) India beat Aussies in down under (f*cking Bucknor) 3) India winning WC (half checked, still would want them to win 50 over WC)

Namaste ICF’ers Blue blooded Indian here from Mumbai. Nearing 23, I cleared my Chartered Accountancy Final exams in July (with great difficulty) and I’ve started by first job in a Bank 3 weeks ago. There are very few things that are more important to me than Cricket. My love for this game must’ve begun right when my dad got me a plastic bat and ball when I was a toddler. Played for my school and college but couldn’t make it to any decent club here. I started watching cricket on TV during the 1991 India tour of Aus and went for my first cricket match in the 1996 WC, which was again versus Aus (we lost by 17 runs, but Sachin was ‘Paisa Vasool’). Our Test wins in Adelaide ’03, Rawalpindi ’04 and the 6 victories over Pakistan in World Cups are the ones which I cherish the most. As a fan, the most frustrating moments for me were the match-fixing saga in 1999 and our inexplicable first round exit from the 2007 WC. On both occasions I decided to distance myself from the game forever, but couldn’t do it for more than a month. Steve Waugh, Sachin , Wasim and Ponting are my all time favorite players. I can’t stand Azhar and Jadeja. I used to be a regular in the Cricket Room:1 on Yahoo chat and it was one of the guys there who told me about ICF on SN back in ’03. I kept logging in from time to time to check out the interesting threads but didn’t post much as I preferred to chat in real time. However, after the pro-ganguly sentiment on that board reached dizzying heights my visits became less frequent. Then one day I realized all the top posters of ICF had vanished leaving behind only the parochial ganguly brigade. I googled the usernames of various ICF’ers and managed to locate this site (after some effort!). Fantastic site you folks have put up here. With the cream of the old ICF here, this forum has a bright future, just like our team. Very long intro :P .But I’m here to stay! :finger:
