What is the real traits of shrewd capatain you see in Iyer ?

Do not see why in India so much of rigidity about players who were in WC T20 team should not be dropped at all ? Why? Do we have another WC in next 6-8 months ? It defies logic. This is the time one need to experiment and try to find a alternative option for each position. If you do not try put new young players ,are you going to do that when you are 6-7 months way from WC in 2028? No other good international team does this . Most of the established stars in each team play sporadically once main WC event gets over for some time . Now this has been taken to the extreme where even if a player makes 0s or sigle digit scores for 4-5 matches , still people get upset if he is benched . Very bad precedent ! Play guys who are winning matches now .

Need to bring Jaiswal and Looking at where next WC is even Gill will make it .

I do not see that happening at state level on its own. if at all domestic figures to be considered for selection, then the Ranji should have a tiers system . Only performance against top 6-8 teams to be given weightage . Secondly create a panel to select a BCCI team of say 4 teams and make them play all potential pacers /spinners in those matches at COE center . The best COE performing ones should be recommended to be part of team for each state . If indeed these COE players are good enough they should be able to make a break through . If state team does not play the COE recommended player, there should be a proper discussion and evaluation of the state cricket association's decisions.

On top of it each domestic team will play medium pacers who almost are out of favour to play for india . You should have at least one guy you identify as a decent prospect to play for india excluding those who were selected and failed badly.

Badly exposed in today's match - -Third rate spin quality. - Middle overs bowling fragility - Worst player and bad attitude -Sundar - dropped a catch, trying to hit out every ball when needed to play with some IQ. Terrible over . - poor catching - Shreyas - Can see vulnerability against rising pace , so doubtful in sena pitches. - Prasidh - very difficult to survive in T20 without defensive and bowling skills . Not required in T20. - Harshit - Looks iffy while bowling 2nd & 3rd spell. In Sena pitches i would rather have Jaiswal and Gill among batters in pool of 15 . That Moondra guy looks so much better than all indian pacers .

I do not know who is telling them that they have to bowl most as slow balls after 1st spell. harshit is overdoing it .

Seems like some here have no business than ranting on each and every thing negative. In fact India A have played played much better in this match so far. We witnessed one of the fastest knocks you will ever see in a 50 over. Team did not throw it away as they still made 378. Much better opening spell esp by Yash . Ashok was good when bowled with back of Lenfth and short , but bowled too many over pitched boundary balls and hittable widish short balls . Yes thats what he did not do well . But guy is known for pace and has he disappointed anyone today? Also gave a break by getting the best batter on scene today.

last ODI and Thiis match is making it clear that you need to 3 out & Out pacers of quality to contol the game . From there on you need to build the rest of the team . Here in this match India A will struggl*;e for the 3rd seamer now

I am pleased that some good developments are happening in Indian cricket with better management by BCCI re: Player identification. We cannot rely on the domestic stats as nearly 70% of teams are poor quality teams . Instead give more weightage for apparent talent in these youngsters and then make them play together and filter the best possible. Lots of exposure i see in 2026for youngsters compared to ealrier years. Even for India A they should have these kinds of matches at COE bangalore rather than just going by same names again and again.

That why giving exposure at international level does help in finding which format one fits better . Prince is T20 candidate no need to try in tests, ODI. And people who look like test prospects should be one to be considered for ODI -Harshit, Gurnoor, Ashok ,Prasidh.. I think it was good on selectors' part to check him early. Now they should not consider him for ODI and tests .

what i meant was this pitch has more bounce than usual indian wicket . If we see pitch map of Prasidh today, wicket taking delivery were at farther end touching towards of full length. There were far more overpitched balls by Gurnoor in 2nd spell. Hence looks like tried pushing it up but did not get it right .Happens with inexperience when you need to change the length from your most preferred way of bowling length of something little different suddenly . Not so easy to have same control .

May be a change from is stock ball length in his 2nd spell. He was trying to put it little fuller looking at prasidh getting the bounce & movement from good length.

I would take Arsh if he keeps bowling 135 + with control as he did yesterday. Gives some positives - Leftie, opening PP bowing to exploit swing if there is , defensive bowling at the end which he has lot of experience in T20and most of newbies lack that skill , left arm round the wicket angle and Height . Issue with him consistency and pace -sometimes bowls rubbish . SA pitches do provide movement unlike indian pitches, If in 15 /16 based on pitch conditions can be used .

Looks to be T20 bowler as of now. So the pace pool for 2027 looks like -Boom, Gurnoor, Siraj, Harshit , Arshdeep and chance for 1 more AN express factor -Ashok ?

That pitch was giving bit of help and he used it well . But when is bland , he will be tested. Batters can target him
