What a series for him !!! For a gora a big series in India indicates greatness. This will spur him on and he may rise to even greater heights in the coming years.

Choked when it mattered . Probably reading icf and thought he was a god he could do anything . Playing shots every ball . Always was gonna end with dismissal

He s the difference between the 2 sides. Without Smith we would have won 3-1 or may be even 4-0.

The one knock they counted the most, a chance to lead his team to a historic series win in India and he fluffed it. I hope those who were bigging him up over kohli have taken note of their hero's shortcoming at a crucial moment.

Failed in Ranchi when he had to save the game as well.  But you are quibbling and clutching at straws.  His domination of this series has been Tendulkaresque.  He has been, far and away, the most assured batsman playing.   And for an Aussie to do that in India - on tracks that were reasonably bowler friendly - is no mean task.  No love for his brainfades, or his weird ungainly technique.  But the man is a competitor, and has Sehwagian hand-eye co-ordination.  Can't take his batting accomplishments away.  Respect.   No affection, or admiration for that matter.  But definitely respect.

He hardly looked assured at Pune we dropped him 3-4 times and he struggled at Bangalore against Yadav could not score a run.He is a very good batsman but we have ourselves to blame for allowing him to get away at Pune .

Sure.  But what about Ranchi?  He single-handedly carried the Australian 1st innings to a total that gave Marsh and Handscomb an opportunity to draw the game.  Pune was an allround bad performance by our team - especially with the bat.  But you can't dismiss Smith's batting this series as someone we "allowed" to get away.  The guy has done well.

As I said if we had taken catches at Pune and not allowed him to score runs his confidence would not have taken off.Failures in first 2 test would have put him under pressure.Sure he played well at Ranchi but he has been lucky with tosses and batted when conditions were best .But still he is ranked 1 for a reason.
