G_B_ Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I merged that Reason being that the first post on that topic was made in that thread. Hence for continuity its best to have it in one place. This was the first post on that topic http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=3199363&postcount=14

This was the first post on that topic http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=3199363&postcount=14 even i searched for thread to merge, i remembered these 4-5 posts but then gave up ..so you did nothing wrong .. still feedback is welcome ..
Kalia_Test Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I noticed few others recently but can't remember now :(( Will make note from now on. As a general thing, I believe it is better to have a hot topic as it is and then merge with a mega/generic thread once it dies down. I will quote the same example - How many people will go to political section and look at the Obama visit thread now? Compare that to what responses it would have got if it was in CC section with its original thread title.

I mean merge a new thread into old one or branch off a new post ( if significant) in old thread into a new thread? In this case, IMO it would have been better if the latter approach was taken. Again - thanks for great work as usual.

There are redirects for that. You click on 'Obame says Gandhi' thread and it'll take you to Obama in India thread
Kalia_Test Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 ^^^ I dont see Obama Gandhi in CC section :dontknow: Anyway - good to see all new mods coming to rescue each other :--D

Again - thanks for great work as usual. to avoid confusion its always better to merge new thread into old one as posts will get jumbled as they are arranged by time . you can rename thread but this imo was related to obama visiting india and others already were discussing same topic so what he did was totally fine .
Sachin=GOD Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Suggestion - when you merge a thread just inform in this thread.

I made an effort and put up the most important thread of this WC - and you power-drunk MODs are playing football with it - first you junked it to 'JOkes' (:finger:) then brought it back to Chit-Chat and now Lord has merged it with some useless thread. Drunk with power!!! And now you are asking for suggestions like a customer care representative? Feck ya all
Old guy Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Suggestion - when you merge a thread just inform in this thread. normally we leave redirect which serves the purpose ..
Lord Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Suggestion - when you merge a thread just inform in this thread. Leaving redirects is best way.Dunno why GB didnt do it. but yeah this is good idea too
