fineleg
We really needed to make 500 on this pitch. Dig in deep, and runs will come - its that sort of pitch. But alas, Sehwag played an unnecessary shot and RD decided to prod and poke. Ganguly played across (and Rauf-the-Oaf I bet wont give that against Aus, but will give it against Ind). Now given that we have Rauf-the-Oaf umpiring, I really wish SG played more with a straight bat than all these risky across the line ones. Anyways, now even if to get to 350 is tough, and we have squandered a VERY GOOD TOSS to win!!! Link to comment

But Ravi - in 2 sessions, we have squandered the advtg of winning the Toss - Agree or not? I mean surely you dont think we can get more than 350 here, well even 350 is doubtful, right? But this is the sort of pitch where you can CASH IN after winning the Toss, dig in, score 500 - and you can make Aus cry their way to the dressing room on Day-2. But why oh why do we need to get mediocre 300 scores, when 500 is there on this Adelaide pitch? What do you say? Thats what makes me sad, Ravi. Link to comment
Cricketics
itz aite fineleg.. whatever runz we make, we have the bowlerz to bowl the aussies out for less then 350 Link to comment

Ram
For a change, I actually agree with Finey. 4 wickets before tea is probably 1 wicket too many to have lost. 2 of those wickets were soft, And i am referring to Sehwag and Ganguly's dismissals. We are in danger here, of totally losing the initiative here. We are, in fact, possibly, just one wicket away from losing this match I reckon. Link to comment

Sure India set out hoping to script this but it didn't happen. Just because it didn't happen they can't throw the towel and give it up. I don't see why you reckon India still cannot make a match of this? It's only been 4 wickets and if Lax or Dhoni get struck in with Tendulkar a good score is still possible. Things happen so quickly when batting nothing you script will go accordingly mostly. If everything was to go by whims and fancies of fans or cricketers it would be pretty easy isn't it? Enojy the game and let it unfold. Link to comment

Correct :(( We are playing one batsman short on this pitch. And this is risky situation currently. We need to score 350-min to stay alive, 400-to be decent, 450-to be strong, and 500-to make Aus cry. I wanted Aus to cry or atleast a strong total. But its not to be! Will we get the Minimum 350 atleast!? Link to comment

Mr. Wicket
Not squandered yet, but too much onus has (yet again) been placed on SRT and VVS... these two are more than capable of course (remember Sydney 04, where a potentially precarious situation turned into one of the greatest partnerships I've ever seen), but when you have 5 specialist batsmen in the side and 3 fall before tea on the opening day (Sehwag the only one to make any sort of contribution), it's not good for the team. Hope Dhoni comes good with the bat here. [by Murphy's Law Bhajji will leave with a duck or something near that...] Link to comment
Guest whineleg
Finey dear is right on the dot. Its all over for us, by a long shout. We will lose the next 6 wickets for 5 runs, Symmonds will take double hat-trick. Irfan shouldnt have edged it, Sehwag shouldnt have nicked it, Dravid shouldnt have fended at it, Ganguly shouldnt have missed it. All in all, India is a hopeless side, anyone following this side is hopeless. We are total waste, we should stop playing cricket once and for all. Link to comment

We really need a Bhajji 50 and a Kumble 50 - given that we are playing one bat short! Link to comment

DesiChap
It is really a shame that you follow test cricket finey. Test matches are played for 5 days. Link to comment
fineleg
Test matches are played for 5 days. Ofcourse it is, and ofcourse I've watched many many Tests. However you grab the initiative when you win the Toss on a good pitch. If you win the Toss, and put in a seedha-saadha performance, then you are conceding the advantage. That does not change even if the Test is played for 5 days or 6 days or with a rest day in the middle. Hope you see that point. Do you or do you not agree that 350 on this pitch is a seedha-saadha, and 300 or anything less than 300 is definitely under par. Link to comment
