Kejriwal was on the right track with odd-even, even though it was a bakwas idea in total We need much better public transport and regulations on carbon emissions by motor vehicles, especially trucks. Diwali crackers are a red herring to me when we can compare it to so many other things which are probably the culprits in the majority fo this smog dust is the biggest contributor to pollution in Delhi and not vehicles. Where does that come from, the info that dust is a greater contributor than vehicles? I don't think there are many dry lands surrounding Delhi, maybe Ghaziabad? Chinese cities like Beijing the smog it seems to be factory and vehicle based.

Think the tax for elec. vehicles are already exempted from some taxes.Indian automobile majors are already selling such cars.People with concern for environment (pollution their cars cause) have gradually started to buy elec models.
