A captain like Imran Khan would have picked someone like an Ishan Porel for SA test squad as the dark horse.
 
Genuine physically threatening pace, can hit the deck hard and gets steep bounce and seam movement both ways.
 
Not a spray-gun. Decent accuracy.
 
Seems like he can sustain pace and intensity, which is much needed in tests.
 
Just picked up 5 wickets to win it for Bengal.
 
Has taken 10 wickets in his first 2 FC matches.
 
 

Exactly, avesh Khan, kulwant khejroliya, ishan porel,lalit yadav, khalil Ahmed, I think Bcci will be better served if it allows them to train in NCA or better encourage them to play county.

For all its resources, selecting this bharat arun guy is hopeless. He hardly played any international games and he is there just because ravi shashtri wants him. BCCI could have hired shane bond who has done well as a bowling consultant/coach with Mumbai Indians. And all cricket followers know how good he was and the only non-Aus pace bowler in the early 2000s to make Steve Waugh and his team dance.

in the first test my bowling Line up will be SHAMMI,UMESH,BHUVI ,Pandya and ASHWIN. IF the Pitch is sure to not Swing and BHUVI could look ineffective then I may play ishant ahead of BHUVI.

reason is bhuvi is a thinking bowler and first chance out of bhuvi/ishant should go to the thinking bowler to prove his credentials, if he fails only then opportunity will go to ISHANT.

Even Umesh who is my favourite can be DROPPED if he does not perform.

ONLY SHAMMI's position is CONFIRMED if he is FIT as he is OUR BEST TEST PACER. umesh and BHuvi can be replaced by SIRAJ AND ISHANT if they dont perform.

 

shami umesh bhuvi ishant siraj should fly to africa as pacers.

ashwin vijay shankar and hardik pandya should go as All rounders.

Only Kuldeep should go as a SPINNER.

Jadeja is not going to get a chance in final playing 11 so no point selecting him better to fly vijay shankar or even Stuart Binny.

 

Back UP Pacer- Mohd Siraj.

 

IN this test which ever pacer comes out as a DUD will be replaced by the one on the bench as mostly in the first test Siraj and IShant would be benched.

Pandya will play all tests but Ashwin could be replaced by Jadeja in the next test if he fails as a Bowler and/or batsman.

i am assuming selectors have marked bumrah as an ODI and t20 bowler..i truly beileve bumrah has been marked as a ODI and t20 specialist and they may not wanna disturb that thinking and may not pick bumrah for test as after tests they have odi and t20 too, they wanna surprise element of bumrah in odi and t20.

that Fat bharat arun has produced results in the PAST and so i would not like to speak lowly of him,,even now he is producing results, our pacers are doing well so there is some special talent in bharat arun...but yes i think zak and even nahra could be better than bharat arun as ZAK has been a wily fox and nehra impressed me as a commentator and his knowledge of pacers seems DEEP and Thorough.

only chance is if someone like Ganguly recommends his name to team management but then he does not have great terms with Shashtri.
