msb1991
He must be axed from test side. His batting was woeful. Did not pass 50 once in this series. His glovework was decent but thats no good without runs. With quality batters like Karthick and Patel waiting in the wings, one of these guys need a run and deserve it. I would say karthick as his glovework is top notch and he has proved he can score consisitent runs at this level. He would be great coming in at 7. However, I fear Dhonis celebrity status will mean he is virtually undroppable which is a disgrace! This is why Indian fans have a bad reputation! He has had one bad Test series and he kept very well. If a keeper can do one of the two arts very well, then he should stay in the side. The grass is NOT always greener. Dinesh Karthik recently and Parthiv Patel (always) are bad wicket keepers. The priority is wicket keeping for a wicket keeper. Not all countries can produce a Gilchrist. Dhoni is a good keeper in any country and a very good batsman in India. He is a very good player. Thats lateral thinking at its most lateral I was just referring to my claim TN never gets its due, a player like Badrinath gets selected only to sit on the bench and be dropped again. Predator_05
The only funny thing is that NOBODY of Dhoni bashers are able to address the batting points/tests I have highlighted....try...and then accept you are all just doing mindless bashing Maybe because most of your points are bullsh it ? ie; not even worth a response. But i'll still indulge you, just for the hell of it Yeah, Dhoni scored more than Karthik at the Oval - thank you for pointing that out, as if you are the only one who has followed his career since he made his debut... BTW, who scored more runs in the England series ? Here's a hint - it wasn't Dhoni. Actually, Karthik out-scored every other Indian batsman in that series (cue bullsh it excuses re; Karthik being an opener and Dhoni being a lower order batsman). Just out of curiousity, has Dhoni ever finished top scorer for India in ANY test series ? How many did Dhoni score in the only test that India won on that tour ? Oh, that's right - F UCK ALL... Compared to Karthik who scored a solid 77 which laid the foundation for the middle order to put up 480. As for your other obvious statements, ie; Dhoni's 57 won India a test against PAK blah blah, Karthik has done all that too. 93 at the Eden Gardens ring a bell ? Yawn. As for all the other 20's and 30's, i won't even bother. Your show of barrell scraping for 30's (LOL) is enough proof for me to know that Dhoni hasn't lived up to the hype in Test cricket. For someone who is supposed to be "India's answer to Adam Gilchrist", you would expect just a wee bit more than 20's and 30's ? Am i wrong ? Link to comment

beetle
Can't expect a guy to take on the job without any practice. He has been made to do everything but keeping. It was a one off bad match. Can't rate him forever on that. Link to comment

Karnataka has been an dominant force in Indian cricket and I got be surprised that India had captains from there? Gangully was not only an able captain, but was also backed by Dalmia. Now i don't want a captain from Tamil Nadu, i recognize there are none worthy. But any one care to explain why Murali Karthik has been treated so shabbily, even after proving himself repeatedly against the best team in the world? While Harbhjan rides on his past glories. And why was Badrinath warming the benches when he was arguably in the best form of his lifetime? Don't tell me there is no Politics in our Selection.... Link to comment
