the team is well balanced, though rohit sharma instead of badrinath looked a bit strange munaf's inclusion is positive yuvraj singh, the selectors may hv bn a bit harsh on him , but he was definately out of form, looking a bit ragged pragyan ojha is good, though chawla might hv bn a better option, but it is too early 2 comment parthiv patel n dinesh kaarthick are the men i want to watch, they r pretty interesting!!!!!!!

Having two flamboyant openers in test cricket in never a good idea. I wish GG-Sehwag best of luck but I am kinda skeptical about their chances. For a long time now, we have been wanting someone with solid defensive technique to partner Sehwag. We had Chopra for sometime, did reasonably well but was dropped, then we had Jaffer who scored big sometimes, but that time Sehwag was out of form. Then Sehwag came back to form and Jaffer started sucking ass. So he was dropped. Now we GG, but GG isn't the kind of batsman we had in mind, is he ?

Well, we have to make the best of this squad. Sehwag Ghambhir Dravid Tendulkar Laxman Ganguly Karthik - Glad he's in, he can bat better than Dhoni in tests. Kumble Harbhajan Zaheer Ishant Man, this batting lineup will be amazing!

The bunch of jokers have done it again : 1. Two wicketkeepers for a tour to SL? Why? Replacements can easily be flown in if there is an injury. And what a stupid time for Dhoni to take his break. Watch us lose the series thanks to either Karthik or Parthiv's wicketkeeping. 2. How exactly is Sharma a better batsman than Badrinath? Technique? Runs? Form? Badrinath is just way ahead. 3. Mishra should spend a couple of days with Harbhajan and learn the art of giving interviews to the press. Nothing else seems to impress these jokers. Terrible, terrible squad. A complete display of stupidity if ever there was one.
Exactly... TWO wicket keepers for a 3 test series is nonsense! And no way Rohit should have been picked over Badrinath.

Yuvi has been dropped from the test squad..and yes Badri shd have got the nod ahead of Rohit or he shd have been in the squad instead of the extra keeper..apart from this blunder the squad seems gud..wud have ideally prefered Sree instead of Munaf but Sree is injured..and realistically speaking the 3rd spinner is of no use coz AK and Bhajji are gonna play in all the tests..

that will likely be the lineup if zaheer is fit but I want to see 5 bowlers in one of matches if the conditions are right.

Dropped' date=' reports that he was axed for attitude problems![/quote'] I call bullshit. Btw, Here is what cricinfo has to say ... ************************ A source in the BCCI said the selectors decided to give Yuvraj"a break" with an eye on the amount of cricket coming up and considering the slim chances of him getting a slot in the final XI for the three Tests in Sri Lanka. "The selectors decided to give him a break, considering the amount of cricket he has played recently and the cricket that is coming up in which he will play a crucial role," the source told Cricinfo. "Also, they felt it would have been difficult to accommodate him in the final XI for the Tests in a line-up that already has Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Ganguly. These were the two main factors that were considered in Yuvraj's case." Unlike Dhoni, Yuvraj did not ask for a break, but it was felt that he needed one, the source said. Yuvraj marked his comeback to the Test team with a 169 against Pakistan in Bangalore last year, but was dropped from the XI after scoring 19 runs in four innings during the Test series in Australia. Yuvraj is also susceptible against spin, another factor that could have gone against him, given the conditions in Sri Lanka. ****************************

I wonder if Rohit will even get a game considering that the Gambhir and Sehwag will take the openers slots. Then to follow them would be Dravid Tendulkar' date=' Ganguly, and Laxman, wicketkeeper and 4 bowlers.[/quote'] well offcourse he won't unless there is some injury to our key player, but thing is the the addition of Sharma in the squad is a worrying factor because this makes one believe that guys like Badrinath and all who have been piling runs in Domestic cricket aren't in contention for future test series too since Rohit sharma has been selected. there aren't many slots to snatch in test squad, just one or two, and this rare slot has been awarded to Rohit Sharma for no reason
