It was hilarious watching all the fakeonomists on CNBC/ET/BTVI etc over the last week hoping for fiscal consolidation. Suaar ke bacchon, what gave you the idea that Namo wants to be a one term PM?

Namo has few more arrows in his quiver to make sure 2019 result is for him (and I'm sure he realizes than Anything less than 272 for BJP, he will be dumped - there is no wider NDA coalition anymore as long as Namo/AS are incharge).

Arvind Subramanian warned of this.

The vicious cycle continues.

modi will make up for it with 2020-2022 budgets. he always said 4 years governance+1 year politics, but this is way too much.

The twin balance sheet problem is already a major obstacle in achieving required growth and meeting the fiscal deficit target. Upar se ab ye.

Eventually its the common man who is going to bear the burden.

i think observing UP election results and Guj rural performance, they are banking on rural factor all the way but this takes middle class vote for granted. however, i dont know how opposition capitalizes on this. pretty much, middle class has no political party to call their own.
