Batsman Aiden Markram has been named South Africa's skipper for the remainder of the ODI series against India. This comes after Francois du Plessis was ruled out of the series with a finger injury, having suffered the injury in the first ODI while fielding. The captain for the succeeding T20I series, though, is yet to be decided.

Interesting pick,India certainly have a chance to increase their lead before ab comes back

It's clear that Saffers are looking to prepare for 2019 WC by selecting MarkRAM (i.e. Ram) as the captain. remains to be seen whether he will go the way of graeme smith in terms of captaincy. But, I believe that Ram already has experience leading his domestic squad(s).

He led the u-19 team to victory in world cup 2014. Was the man of the series of that tournament. Looks to me like if SA has a shot at 50 over world cup, it will be under him.
