He was gone in 2013.. That's 2 years from 2011 WC.. He didn't pick and choose anything.. He was told to sit down on the side by Dhoni and co.  There is a big difference.. Since Dhoni doesn't play Tests anymore its important to play as many as he could for WC2019..I don't see anything wrong with it or even Virat and co. Spot is still open for your rockstar to grab at #4 and #5.. quit blaming everyone and everything just because your Rockstar isn't good enough to make it in that ODI side.. Iyer, Pandey and Kedar all did all by themselves   Maybe take some tips from Karthik ? How to made full use of opportunity.. Fact is he is not ready yet.. So keep moaning and moaning when there are still spots up for grab.. Its funny you are pointing fingers at everything but the management.

This Madarc$&#@ selfish Dhoni n impotent ,spineless selectors taking India back to 1970, in ODI , Dhoni had already destroyed test side before he retired now he intends to do same for ODI, he n his Srini mama destroying cricket, along with Rhiti n Cornerstone owned by Dhonis friend n himswld n Rohits bro inlaw respectively.

This has been going on for years. We have been relying on our top players for a long time now. Dhoni never could graduate to number 4 like it was the original plan. Raina and Yuvraj were persisted too long till they just fizzled away. We have tried Rayudu and now we are looking at Jadhav, Pandya. 

 

This is perennial problem with Indian cricket. Only time where our middle order matched up to the top order in ODIs is When Yuvraj was at his peak and Dravid was really finding his place in the middle order supported by guys like Kaif. 

 

Part of the reason is that there is a big gap in quality between guys like Kohli and some of these guys. 

 

We just have to keep trying people and be open to introduce new talent early. Pandey, Rahul, Iyer need to be given a good run and we need some bold calls on getting some younger players.
