Like it’s not easier to hate Manju- being a jerk to your junior team members is obviously a douchebag  move regardless of who is right or wrong

 

Having said that Ganguly looked like such a quota pick on that 1992 tour infact he epitomized everything wrong with Indian cricket of that time A quota and influential candidate holding back much deserving players and looking like a deer in headlight , in fact same thing was said for his 1996 selection but boy did he prove everyone wrong.

 

Irony that Ganguly himself a guy criticized of being a quota pick or recommendation candidate would be the guy to end up revolutionizing Indian cricket just 5-6 years after his debut by backing genuine talent

Even during Dravid days, there was talk of his "slow batting" causing Tendulkar dismissal because he had to take more risks. There was talk of demoting him to #5 / 6, but was never dropped, unlike Pujara.
