if you think the biggest problem in this team is Pandya, LOL.

Indian team management has a fixed policy for years now. They dont give a fcuk about Test cricket, especially overseas. The only reason they continue with this vestige is because of the purists and also outside pressure from other boards. BCCI sees no money in this format in the future and they would rather move on to a completely LOI format based schedule that would ensure maximum profits for them, which makes sense.

Players like Pandya are propped so that atleast some form of revenue is earned from this snoozefest.

Lol Noone comes to watch Pandya in test matches. Get it over with. Traditional fans dont give a * about that wannabe.

I get that Pandya is a work in progress and they are developing him in the test arena, instead of having him tough it out in first class, India A etc. But on current form he is the sort of guy who might give you 25 and take no wickets , and then once in 10 games he might give you something more. How is that more productive than say Jadeja. Jadeja gives you more depth with the ball, and he too, can give you 25. Also, 3 pace, 2 spin gives us the variety we need to keep England under pressure throughout the inning. Right now, batsmen can relax a bit when Pandya bowls. Which is why India don’t use him much with the ball.

He will hit a 90 in SA one time and then his followers will milk it for a decade.

I think the threshold for England is much lower, he was the 2nd best batsmen in this team (according to some) with a sub 35 HS in this test, scored less than 55 in 2 innings with a dropped catch to boot.

Dropped catch only matters when it is Dhawan. One should not say a single bad word about Pandya.
