Dravid,Dhoni,kapil and Kohli are once in a life time players. There is no replacement for them also he is not the only one who is coached by Dravid. That can't be a proper reason to back him. 

But he has done well on the A tours and has potential to be very good.

On Flat tracks prob.. This is different you saw how the ball was swinging left right and center on day 4.  It was scary watching it on TV.

It’s understandable that in these conditions he may not score that many runs but need to persist with him.
