Which close matches will be missed more during long drought of away match/series wins?

1990s - 0 overseas wins and this was probably best chance for the team. Not only this would have given a test win in WI, but first series win in WI.

 

2.  Matches in 1977 Aus series

Depleted side, India had best chance to win the series in Aus.

3. New Zealand tour 2014.

Dropped catch of Mccullum by Kohli cost India a match and a chance to save the series which could have been huge relief for a team which was losing in all formats in SENA countries. 

 

4. Adelaide test 2014.

Masterclass by Kohli and score of 299-5 meant India were looking good at this target on difficult 5th day pitch. Lost the match and series 2-0. One more series which could have been saved 1-1 during the dark period.

Barbados one was heartbreaking back then even the one we lost in Auckland by 39 runs in 2014 was disappointing.
