Would have missed out on a gut with average of 61. "A 20 year old with the potential skillset to replace an aging Dhoni, will obviously attract more enthusiasm and support" More like agenda against that one guy from Group of hypocrites you mean ? aww, Its a conspiracy against that one guy from rayalseema! Comparing Indian cricket talent pool to a country with 1/10th the population, where majority of the top athletic talent chooses to play different sports, is a flawed 'argument' to begin with. But you are too far gone with your froth and victim mentality to bother discussing this further. Edited October 1, 2018 by sandeep Laaloo 1

How is it flawed ? Guy made his test debut at the of 35 and he was so good. If selectors had your kind of mindset, That would have never happened. You are telling me they don't have young players in the ranks ? At the end of the day it's about how they perform not really about the age. Whatever floats your boat mate... At the end of the day it's about how they perform not really about the age. Whatever floats your boat mate... All countries have their cricket cultute and selection ethos. Did you ever see a Sachin Tendulkar, or a young teenage phenom batsman debut for Australia? Do they not have talented young batsmen? But they will never give such players a debut. To sit here and whine about selection bias, and "regionalism" when it comes to Ambattli, who has - to be blunt and a bit harsh- bottled the umpteen chances he's gotten, is inaccurate and betrays the bias that you have in your mind, more so than any that may or may not exist. On the back of a good IPL season - and not his first -Rayudu has made his way back into the staring XI. If there was a 'bias' against him, he could easily have been dropped for KL Rahul. But he wasn't. The Asia Cup final was the perfect opportunity for him to seize the moment. So was the game against Afghanistan. To be fair, he played quite well against Afg. But a player looking to cement his postion in the team, especially one who ha been given so many games, cannot afford to keep blowing such chances. If you think back to the time before Kohli became the ODI machine he is today, he consistently put up big scores in the 2nd rung LOI tours to places like Zimbabwe, SL etc. Top players put up top performances. The also-rans, they put up shoulda-coulda-wouldas, and their 'fans' put up excuses. How many ODIs has Rayudu played so far? Can you name a single defining performance? Even Manish Pandey has that century against Aus to point to. Cream tends to rise to the top, not get lost in the muddle. Edited October 1, 2018 by sandeep
