Kuldeep Yadav capable of playing big role on Australian pitches, says Sunil Gavaskar

Only 2 spinners should be taken to Aus. Probably Jaddu and Kuldeep.

Traditionally offies struggle big time in Aus. Only Lyon has decent figures there in the last 30 years. And Ash doesn't seem to be in good rhythm either.

Jadeja is at least very consistent. Kuldeep's leggies/googlies might be useful.

Also, all Ind/Aus seamers are righties except Starc. Whatever rough develops, Kuldeep/Jaddu have some chance of using it esp. against left hand batsmen which Aus have quite a few. Ash wouldn't be able to.

Spinners have not enjoyed success in Australia. But advantage with Kuldeep is that he can beat both edges of bat. Also he is a Chinaman and apart from Brad Hogg, Aussies are not used to playing Chinaman bowlers in nets or domestics. Fawad , Zampa, Green, Agar, Lyon are totally different to Kuldeep.

I would like to see him bowl in first test and at SCG too.

Kuldeep wont be effective if he bowls @75k.. but we can try for 1st match.

If it doesnt work settle for jadega for next3.

mmeee like the idea!

I like the sound of Bhuvi as an AR.

Have to make sure his batting hasn't regressed.

Kuldeep as lone spinner is like lottery. Can either win you the game or lose you the game singlehandedly.

Not sure what it is that he needs to improve but there's something missing.

If he bowls too slow, batsmen can play his good length off the backfoot. If he pitches it up, they can drive. English batsmen did this.

Warne used to be this slow too right? Or did he have some quicker deliveries?

What exactly is Kuldeep missing? I am curious.

Extra zip and bounce off the deck and a good flipper.   Warne had all these.

Kuldeep's bowling is dependent largely on foxing the batsman about the direction of turn.   Being able to read him but still finding it difficult to face him, does not happen to Kuldeep on neutral tracks till today. (  not talking about spinning tracks  )

In Australia, the pitches will provide him the extra zip and bounce.
