yes he should have learned proper forward defence/how to play the moving ball from the technically adept MSD.

MSD, Yuvi, Raina, Gambhir, Dravid would have let that ball go through to the keeper considering Malinga was the best bowler in the opposition and it was a WC final. Sehwag and Pant would have hit the cover off of that ball. Only Slashin knows how to poke at it and get an edge. Choker :phehe:

Yes- MSD, Yuvi, Raina and Gambhir all technically more adept outside off stump than Sachin. you're showing how much you understand about cricket here.  Sehwag got out before Sachin to the same bowler!! deary me.

that's the nature of batting on the front line at the top of the order against the hard moving ball vs ATGs like McGrath and Malinga. Hard to understand for people who's hero hides behind top order in an attempt to:

i) inflate his own career stats and brand value with piddly not outs

ii) knock off winning runs after real batsmen done the hard work

iii) when team lose- he can blame it on the top order. Just like he did in 2015 WC semi final loss vs Australia. He blamed loss on top order failure....sums up Dhoni's character perfectly

and oh yeah Sachin giving his wicket away cheaply in 2003 final had nothing to do with his bowlers conceding 350 plus runs.

Mumbai is known for seam movement (you gotta be joking) that is why IPL has the most sixes scored in the league. Ok if Sachin wanted the finishing role why leave it to Dhoni. He could have batted down the order like Greg Chappell suggested (one of his better ideas among the worst). We all know Sachin is about stats, he could have padded his average up. But no he didnt want the pressure of batting with the lower order. He wanted ball to come on to the bat to make his life easier. And also Powerplay overs. You are blind in your worship. May God (Sachin) keep you blind forever so that you may give more money to his advertising and book sales.

Its not about the technique its about big match temperament. These people had more than Sachin. Sorry

PS - Sehwag got a good ball. I have no issues with that.

opening bowlers with a white ball- can move around first few overs.

Is that why Gilly and Hayden opened for Aus - to take the shine off the new ball by nurdling. White ball when new is the easiest ball to hit. The introduction of 2 new balls in 50 over cricket has increased the scoring rate. You're clutching at straws :phehe:

Yes- Hayden would often start off watchful hence career SR of 78...lol

Gilchrist's role was different- designated pinch hitter as so much quality batting to follow. Hence he was often hit or miss and at times inconsistent.

best time to bat is when dew is on the ball at Wankhede.

Poor Tendy still choked despite the dew though. Lucky for him MSD was there to save him and ensure he retired with a WC after 5 unsuccessful attempts.

no need for MSD- Yuvraj would have got the job done quicker and in finer style. Yuvraj said he wanted to win it for Sachin, and he would have like he helped us chase down 387 in Chepauk vs England.

Yeah about that Hayden/Gilly played in Aus half of the time while Sachin played in Ind. Everyone knows the new ball in Ind is the best time to score. In bouncy tracks like Perth and Brisbane, it is wise to leave the new ball even in ODIs. Its not unusual to see scores such as 30/0 after 10 overs. Not so in Wankede

Anyways Hayden, Gilly, Ponting, Martyn have one thing in common. They all performed in a WC final and it was a team performance. Sachin on the other hand flopped when it mattered the most.
