maniac Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 Looks like we are on the verge of full scale war. Do we really need elections or any chance of change of leadership right now? This is not pro-BJP or Modi POV but just common sense. Clearly the PM and the ones in charge are briefed on the strategies, back up plans etc etc, Pakistan is retaliating as well, why would we want this mess added right now? The results of who would be in charge will be decided by how this ends anyways. UrmiSinhaRay 1
zen Posted February 27, 2019 Posted February 27, 2019 (edited) Ind picks leaders to lead them .... and then talks about mandates on issues the leaders should be taking decision on (and when time, along with the surprise element, is of essence) .... if this is the idea of democracy, it probably does not understand (or deserve) it Edited February 27, 2019 by zen
maniac Posted February 27, 2019 Author Posted February 27, 2019 Just now, zen said: Ind picks leaders to lead them .... and then talk about mandates .... if this is the idea of democracy, it probably does not understand it Democracy doesn’t mean just elections. In a perfect fairy tale world, the opposition would support the government by agreeing to this delay and then once this settles down, the ruling party will allow a fair elections. But we don’t live in fairy tale land of perfect democracy.

maniac Posted March 1, 2019 Author Posted March 1, 2019 can things still change in the next 1-2 months?

Any bad report from BJP internal survey for upcoming elections ? Change of leadership at the time of war is not recommended. The point of democracy is to be flexible as per people’s needs. Last thing you want is even giving an outside chance to someone like Pappu to lead you going into a war
velu Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 a war with pakistan will surely delay the elections .. i am against war .. but if pakistan is ready to bomb didi , pappu , kejri , dmk guys , ndtv etc , i am in for the war .. bonus round .. bomb @Malcolm Merlyn as well
